Contemporary hand-knotted rug from India, approximately 9'9" x 7'11". This piece combines wool and bamboo silk to create the abrash effect you see in the grays, taupes, and charcoal tones throughout the field. New condition.

The design has a modern eroded look - abstract patterns that break up and fade across the surface rather than following a traditional medallion layout. You can see darker charcoal motifs scattered through the lighter gray and beige ground, with ivory highlights creating contrast. The bamboo silk catches light differently than the wool, giving it that subtle sheen in certain areas.

The weave looks tight and even from what's visible. Pile appears full with no wear since it's new. Edges and foundation look clean and square. This style works well in contemporary spaces where you want texture and movement without a formal traditional pattern.
